Restored Strength
A crown holds a weakened tooth together, so you can bite and chew on that side again without worrying about the tooth breaking.

Cracked tooth twinging every time you bite down? Dental crowns in Orange, CA, protect a weak or damaged tooth so you can chew normally again. Your new crown is made to look natural and feel strong, so you can stop babying that side of your mouth.
A crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged tooth down to the gumline. Crowns are used for cracked teeth, failing fillings and teeth that have had a root canal, and they also top dental implants and support bridges.
Our crowns are tooth-colored porcelain, and when a tooth has lost a lot of structure, a post and core build-up gives the crown a solid base. We usually consider three options. A filling works when plenty of strong tooth remains, an onlay (a partial crown) suits a tooth with one or two weak corners, and a full crown protects a tooth that needs to be held together.
A crown holds a weakened tooth together, so you can bite and chew on that side again without worrying about the tooth breaking.
Porcelain reflects light much like natural enamel, and each crown is shaded and shaped to match the teeth beside it.
Covering a fragile tooth helps prevent new cracks, which matters most for back teeth that have had a root canal and can turn brittle.
A crown usually takes two visits, a couple of weeks apart, while a dental lab makes your final crown.
Book NowWe examine the tooth, take an X-ray if one is needed and go over your options with you on screen before you decide.
Once the tooth is numb, we remove any decay and carefully shape the tooth so the new crown can fit securely over it.
An iTero scan records the prepared tooth and your bite in detail, and we choose the shade of your new crown together.
You'll wear a temporary crown while the lab makes your porcelain one, so avoid sticky candy and gum until the next visit.
At the second visit, we check the fit and bite of your porcelain crown, bond it in place and show you how to care for it at home.
Our iTero scanner records your tooth and bite in fine detail, and the dental lab builds your crown directly from that digital file.
We choose the shade with you in natural light, and you can check the crown in a mirror before we bond it permanently in place.
We make sure the tooth is fully numb and agree on a signal for breaks, and IV sedation from a visiting dental anesthesiologist is available.
We also replace older crowns that have started to leak or chip, or that show a dark line along the gumline as they age.

Call (714) 282-2525I broke a tooth early one morning before work. I called the office as soon as it opened and they were able to fit me in a couple of hours later. I left with a temporary fix and a full treatment plan. Every single member of the staff at Dental Spa of Orange is amazing; kind, patient and going the extra mile to accommodate special needs related to a current medical issue. I feel more valued at this office than I did at my previous dentist of over 20 years!
I’m very pleased with this office. Honesty is important to me, and this office is that. One of my biggest issues that I have come across with dentistry is charging the insurance for work not done or having work done that is not needed. My last dentist stated I needed 6 fillings and 2 crowns. I went for a second opinion here, and not one of that was needed!
I've been going to Dental Spa & Implant Center of Orange a couple of times, they have excellent care, great friendly staff, and a nice clean environment! So far I've had a fair amount of work done here, including a crown, a filing, and cleanings. Dr. Martey saved me from needless procedures recommended by other dentists. He did an amazing job fitting a crown that I was told would require surgical removal of my Gum. He spent hours patiently placing the crown in and customized it so that it fit properly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Kind and understanding staff. I felt like I was really listened to and given appropriate care without any pressure to do procedures I wasn’t ready for. They fixed my chipped tooth without any pain. Quick and professional. Highly recommend.
Clean office, friendly and very helpful staff… More importantly, wonderful and skillful dentists. Good work and very reasonable charges...
Nice and clean place, the doctor is professional and reliable. The best dentist in the town!
We love the dental spa of Orange! Staff are great, dentists are wonderful, appointments are easy to get, facility is clean and well cared for. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff and doctor makes you feel comfortable. Will continue to recommend Dental Spa of Orange to friends and family.
Good cleaning and friendly staff. The Dr is very good. Been going there for years and very satisfied.
I can not say good things about this place. They took my fear and anxiety about the dentist and made me feel safe and comfortable. I can not say enough good things about this place.
The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With covid making life harder the office made it seem very easy and accessable. The dental surgeon was incredible and cared about my pain management. I am definitely going back for my next dental needs.
Dental spa has done multiple work for my mom's implants, she is 72 and has major implants needs. She is happy with dental spa's work. As for me, my cleaning is done here, the hygiest is the best. Thank you!

Yes, because the edge where the crown meets your natural tooth can still decay, especially near the gumline. Brushing and flossing along that edge are just as important as before. We check crown edges at every exam so any problem can be caught early.
Some teeth need more work than others. A tooth that needs a post and core build-up or a root canal first costs more than one that only needs the crown, and your insurance changes your share. You'll see the full amount before anything starts, and financing options offer up to 6 months interest-free.
Often, yes, at least in part, though many plans treat crowns as major work with a smaller share covered and sometimes a waiting period. Delta Dental, Tricare and Connection Dental members are in network with us. Our front desk can check your crown benefits before your first visit.
Most people get used to a temporary crown within a day or two. It can feel a little bulky or rough next to your other teeth, and it isn't as strong as the final crown. Chew gently on that side, and call us if it comes loose.
Many crowns last for years with good home care and regular checkups. Grinding, chewing ice and gum disease are the most common reasons a crown fails early. If you grind your teeth at night, a custom night guard can help protect the porcelain while you sleep.
