Throbbing tooth keeping you up at night? Root canal treatment in Orange, CA, can stop the pain and save your natural tooth. We help you get back to normal so you can sleep through the night and enjoy your favorite foods without wincing.
Inside every tooth is the pulp, a soft tissue that contains nerves and blood vessels. Deep decay, a crack or an injury can let bacteria reach the pulp and cause inflammation, infection or an abscess, which is a pocket of infection at the tip of the root. A root canal removes the damaged pulp, disinfects the inside of the tooth and seals it.
Most back teeth need a crown after a root canal to keep them from breaking. For children, a pulpectomy treats an infected baby tooth so it can keep holding space for the adult tooth.
Deep, throbbing tooth pain usually comes from the inflamed pulp inside the tooth, so removing that tissue typically brings welcome relief.
Your natural tooth stays in place and keeps working, so you won't need a bridge, implant or partial denture to fill a gap.
An infection inside a tooth rarely clears up on its own, and cleaning and sealing the canals removes the source before it spreads.
Most root canals take one or two visits, and back teeth usually receive their crown at a later appointment.
Book NowWe ask what triggers the pain and how long it lasts, then we test the tooth and take an X-ray to confirm the source.
We numb the tooth and the gum around it, then test the area to make sure it's completely numb before any treatment begins.
We make a small opening in the top of the tooth and carefully remove the infected or inflamed pulp from inside it.
The canals are cleaned, disinfected, shaped and filled, and the opening is closed with a temporary or permanent filling.
For back teeth, a porcelain crown made from an iTero scan usually follows at a later visit to protect the treated tooth from breaking.
A root canal often feels much like getting a filling, and we confirm you're fully numb before we start and pause whenever you raise a hand.
If anxiety has kept you from care, a California-licensed dental anesthesiologist can come to our office so you can rest through the visit.
X-rays, plus CBCT 3D imaging when roots need a closer look, show whether the tooth can be saved, and we will tell you honestly.
We review your X-rays with you and explain the risks, alternatives and cost of treatment in plain language before you decide.

Call (714) 282-2525This was my first time back to dentist in 10 years, they made me feel very comfortable and took care of my painful toothache, highly recommend
I’m not one to leave comments or reviews but my experience was so good, I feel compelled to post a comment. I have always hated going dentist. My experience growing up was never a good one but then I had a dental issue I couldn’t neglect anymore I had to find a dentist. I came across Dental Spa in Orange ( they accepted my insurance) Dental Spa sounded good so I rolled the dice and gave them a call. I’m so glad I did! They were able to see me right away. My visit was great! They were incredibly understanding re: my dental phobia, and we’re so kind. They treated me like family, explained everything to me and made sure I was comfortable. If you or anyone you know deals with issues about going to dentist Dental Spa in Orange is THE best choice! You won’t be sorry!
Got me in quick and fixed my dental emergency without issue!
I broke a tooth early one morning before work. I called the office as soon as it opened and they were able to fit me in a couple of hours later. I left with a temporary fix and a full treatment plan. Every single member of the staff at Dental Spa of Orange is amazing; kind, patient and going the extra mile to accommodate special needs related to a current medical issue. I feel more valued at this office than I did at my previous dentist of over 20 years!
Clean office, friendly and very helpful staff… More importantly, wonderful and skillful dentists. Good work and very reasonable charges...
Nice and clean place, the doctor is professional and reliable. The best dentist in the town!
We love the dental spa of Orange! Staff are great, dentists are wonderful, appointments are easy to get, facility is clean and well cared for. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff and doctor makes you feel comfortable. Will continue to recommend Dental Spa of Orange to friends and family.
Good cleaning and friendly staff. The Dr is very good. Been going there for years and very satisfied.
I can not say good things about this place. They took my fear and anxiety about the dentist and made me feel safe and comfortable. I can not say enough good things about this place.
The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With covid making life harder the office made it seem very easy and accessable. The dental surgeon was incredible and cared about my pain management. I am definitely going back for my next dental needs.
I’m very pleased with this office. Honesty is important to me, and this office is that. One of my biggest issues that I have come across with dentistry is charging the insurance for work not done or having work done that is not needed. My last dentist stated I needed 6 fillings and 2 crowns. I went for a second opinion here, and not one of that was needed!

Most people feel only pressure during a root canal because the tooth is fully numb. The tooth may feel tender for a few days afterward, and over-the-counter pain relievers usually help. Most people are back at work the next day, and we'll give you aftercare instructions that explain what's normal.
Common signs include pain that lingers after something hot or cold, soreness when you bite, a tooth that's turning gray or a pimple-like bump on the gum nearby. Some infected teeth cause little or no pain, so only an exam and an X-ray can tell for sure.
Call us right away at (714) 282-2525 and mention any swelling, and we'll do our best to see you quickly. If swelling spreads toward your eye or neck, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, go to the ER instead. We're open Monday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Wednesday and Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The cost depends mostly on which tooth needs treatment, since molars have more canals and take longer than front teeth. Most treated back teeth also need a crown, which is a separate cost, and we'll go over the total for both before we begin. financing options are available, and our Dental Financing page explains how it works.
Usually in part, with the root canal and the crown that follows covered as separate items. You'll find our in-network plans on the Dental Insurance page, and our team can look up your coverage for both before treatment.
An extraction is quicker on the day, but it usually isn't simpler in the long run. The gap then needs a bridge, implant or partial denture to keep nearby teeth from drifting. When a tooth can be saved, keeping it is usually the better choice, and if it can't, we'll talk through extraction with you honestly.
