What is Invisalign Clear Aligners

How Invisalign Moves Your Teeth a Step at a Time

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable trays called aligners. Each aligner is shaped slightly ahead of where your teeth sit now, so your teeth shift a little with every new set. You switch sets about every one to two weeks, and you take the aligners out to eat, brush and floss.

Aligners can treat crowding, gaps and many bite problems. Our orthodontic care includes Invisalign and retainers only, so if your case needs a different approach, we'll let you know at your consultation.

The Benefits of Invisalign Clear Aligners

Nearly Invisible

Clear aligners are hard to notice in conversation, on video calls or in photos, so most people won't know you're wearing them.

Fully Removable

You take your aligners out to eat, so you can keep enjoying popcorn, crunchy snacks and your other favorite foods throughout treatment.

Comfortable Fit

Smooth plastic aligners have no brackets or wires, so there's nothing sharp to rub or poke at your cheeks and lips during the day.

The Invisalign Clear Aligners Process

The first steps take a couple of visits, and the rest happens at home with short check-ins along the way.

Step 1

Consultation

We check your teeth, gums and jaw and ask what you'd most like to change about the spacing or alignment of your teeth.

Step 2

iTero Scan

A small handheld wand captures a detailed 3D model of your teeth in just a few minutes, with no messy impression putty involved.

Step 3

Treatment Plan

We map out each stage of tooth movement and show you the expected result and timeline before your aligners are ever ordered.

Step 4

Daily Wear

You wear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day and switch sets on schedule, and small tooth-colored bumps called attachments may help them grip.

Step 5

Retainers

Once your teeth reach their new positions, we fit custom retainers to hold them in place and show you how to wear and clean them each day.

Our Difference

Custom Treatment Plans

Your plan starts with a 3D digital scan, and you can watch a preview of how your teeth are expected to move over the months ahead.

Care for Teens & Adults

We treat both teens and adults, and we plan short check-ins around school, sports and work so treatment fits into your week.

Health Check First

We check your gums, fillings and jaw joints before aligners begin, so your teeth move on a strong, healthy foundation from day one.

Clear, Honest Communication

We explain how long your treatment should take, what it will cost and how to clean and care for your aligners between visits.

Did you know…

You switch to a fresh set of aligners about every one to two weeks, and you take them out to eat, brush and floss.

Invisalign for Teens

Clear aligners let teens straighten their teeth without metal brackets showing in school photos.

Discreet & Confident

Teens can smile freely in class, with friends and at weekend games without feeling self-conscious about metal on their teeth.

Eat Freely

Aligners come out for meals, so teens can keep eating the foods they enjoy without worrying about a list of snacks to avoid.

Easy Hygiene

Teens can brush and floss normally with the aligners out, which helps keep their teeth and gums healthy throughout treatment.

Fewer Disruptions

Aligners have nothing to break off, and they can come out for contact sports so a protective mouth guard can go in instead.

Invisalign for Adults

Many adults who had orthodontic treatment as kids notice their teeth shifting again and want a discreet way to correct it.

Virtually Invisible

Aligners stay discreet through work meetings, presentations and dinners out, so you can straighten your teeth without drawing attention.

Comfortable & Removable

You can take your aligners out for a business lunch or a special event, then simply rinse them and put them right back in afterward.

Easy Scheduling

Check-ins are brief and easy to fit into a workday, and you can often take home several sets of aligners at once to save trips to the office.

Fixes Shifting

Crowding or gaps that slowly developed over the years can often be corrected, even if you already had orthodontic treatment as a kid.

Technology That Guides Your Treatment

Cone Beam CT (CBCT)

When a case needs a closer look, CBCT 3D imaging shows your roots and jawbone so each stage of tooth movement can be planned safely.

Dental X-Rays

Dental X-rays, taken only as needed, confirm that your teeth, roots and any older fillings are healthy before aligner treatment starts.

3D Digital Scanning

Our iTero scanner creates the 3D model used to design your aligners, and later scans help us track your progress from visit to visit.

Intraoral Photos

Close-up photos of your teeth make each recommendation easy to follow and show how your smile changes from your first visit to the last.

Nice and clean office. All the equipment looked very up to date and new. Came in for an Invisalign consultation and cleaning. Was seen right away with an appointment. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I am not the biggest fan of going to the dentist but one of the assistants, Letty, made me feel so comfortable and the cleaning was a breeze. Their prices seem fair compared to other locations but they are very flexible with payment and payment options. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience here. Would fully recommend and I will definitely be coming back. They also have really good coffee in the waiting room. Not that instant coffee stuff but an espresso machine!

I can not say good things about this place. They took my fear and anxiety about the dentist and made me feel safe and comfortable. I can not say enough good things about this place.
Lisa Brown
The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With covid making life harder the office made it seem very easy and accessable. The dental surgeon was incredible and cared about my pain management. I am definitely going back for my next dental needs.
Raul Mendoza
I’m very pleased with this office. Honesty is important to me, and this office is that. One of my biggest issues that I have come across with dentistry is charging the insurance for work not done or having work done that is not needed. My last dentist stated I needed 6 fillings and 2 crowns. I went for a second opinion here, and not one of that was needed!

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out these frequently asked questions, or call us at (714) 282-2525 to speak with our team.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Most people feel pressure more than pain. Your teeth may feel sore for a day or two after you switch to a new set, and the soreness eases as they settle. Many people find that switching to new aligners at bedtime makes the change easier.

Can Invisalign fix any bite problem?

Invisalign can treat many bite problems, but not all of them. Crowding, gaps and many mild bite issues respond well, while some severe bite or jaw problems need a type of orthodontic care we don't offer. You'll find out at your consultation if that applies to you, and results also depend on wearing your aligners 20 to 22 hours a day.

How many months will I wear aligners?

Many cases take about 6 to 18 months, and small corrections can take less time. Your estimate depends on how far your teeth need to move and how consistently you wear your aligners.

Is Invisalign covered by dental insurance?

Sometimes. Some plans include an orthodontic benefit that can help with Invisalign, though many limit it to children and teens. If you have Delta Dental, Tricare or Connection Dental, we're in network and can check your benefit, and financing options can help with any remaining cost.

Will I need a retainer after Invisalign?

Yes, a retainer helps keep your teeth from drifting back toward where they started. Teeth tend to shift most in the first months after treatment, so we'll show you how and when to wear yours.
