Pain Relief
Removing wisdom teeth that press against your jaw or the molar beside them can ease the dull ache and pressure that keep coming back.
in Orange, CA
Is that sore, swollen gum behind your last molar flaring up again? Wisdom teeth removal in Orange, CA, can stop the flare-ups and pressure for good. IV sedation is also available at Dental Spa of Orange if you'd rather rest through the whole visit.
Wisdom teeth are the last molars to come in, usually in the late teens or early twenties. By then the jaw often has no room left, so a wisdom tooth may tilt sideways, come in only partway or stay trapped under the gum. Dentists call this an impacted tooth.
Impacted wisdom teeth can cause pain, gum infections and cavities in spots your toothbrush can't reach. Less often, a cyst (a fluid-filled sac) forms around a trapped tooth and damages nearby bone. If your wisdom teeth are healthy and easy to clean, we may simply monitor them with X-rays at your checkups.
Removing wisdom teeth that press against your jaw or the molar beside them can ease the dull ache and pressure that keep coming back.
A wisdom tooth leaning into the molar in front of it creates a pocket that's hard to clean, so removing it helps protect that molar.
Food and bacteria collect under the gum around a partly erupted wisdom tooth, and removing it puts an end to those repeated flare-ups.
Most patients need two visits, one to plan and one for surgery, followed by a few days of rest at home.
Book NowTell us about any pain or swelling, your health history and anything about surgery that worries you or your teen. We answer every question.
A CBCT scan shows the position of each wisdom tooth and the nerve nearby. We explain whether removal or monitoring makes more sense for you.
On surgery day, we numb the area thoroughly. With IV sedation, the anesthesiologist watches your breathing and heart rate, and you'll need a ride home.
Our team removes the teeth, sometimes in small sections to protect the surrounding bone, and places stitches when they're needed.
You'll go home with gauze and your take-home checklist, which explains what's normal during healing, what isn't and when to call us.
Before surgery begins, we check that you're completely numb, and if you need a moment during the procedure, just raise your hand.
A dental anesthesiologist licensed in California visits our office to provide IV sedation, and many patients remember little afterward.
Parents and teens are welcome to go over each step together, and our team can explain it in English, Spanish, Mandarin or Japanese.
CBCT imaging shows how close each root sits to the nerve and sinuses, so your removal can be planned carefully around them.

Call (714) 282-2525This was my first time here at the Dental Spa of Orange, and I must say that the Dentist, Dr. Marty is the Dentist I would recommend to anyone. Rebacca, who is the receptionist, was very helpful from the moment I walked in. She was very nice and greeted me with a warm welcome, leaving me feeling very comfortable as I waited to be called in for the operation. After a very short wait, I met Dr. Marty, who was very knowledgeable and extremely caring. My procedure consisted of pulling my two bottom wisdom teeth, which was a simple, short and very easy procedure under Dr. Marty's supervision. The Doctor even called me the next day to make sure that I was okay, showing that he truly cares for his patients. Letty, the dental assistant was also very accomodating and made me feel very comfortable before the procedure took place. She asked if I would like to pick some music to listen to before I was put under. She also gave me a blanket to keep me warm. During the procedure Letty was very attentive to ensuring my experience was as comfortable as possible, also constantly kept my mouth clear from any spit. I would highly recommend anyone to ask for her as the assistant for any procedure. Overall, this whole experience went very smoothly and I would highly recommend the Dental Spa of Orange to anybody. Dr. Marty is a very trustworthy dentist, and I will be going to him for all my dental needs. Thank you guys!
The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With covid making life harder the office made it seem very easy and accessable. The dental surgeon was incredible and cared about my pain management. I am definitely going back for my next dental needs.
I had wisdom teeth surgery done here and was a new patient. I felt very welcome and had an amazing experience.
Clean office, friendly and very helpful staff… More importantly, wonderful and skillful dentists. Good work and very reasonable charges...
Nice and clean place, the doctor is professional and reliable. The best dentist in the town!
We love the dental spa of Orange! Staff are great, dentists are wonderful, appointments are easy to get, facility is clean and well cared for. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff and doctor makes you feel comfortable. Will continue to recommend Dental Spa of Orange to friends and family.
Good cleaning and friendly staff. The Dr is very good. Been going there for years and very satisfied.
I can not say good things about this place. They took my fear and anxiety about the dentist and made me feel safe and comfortable. I can not say enough good things about this place.
I’m very pleased with this office. Honesty is important to me, and this office is that. One of my biggest issues that I have come across with dentistry is charging the insurance for work not done or having work done that is not needed. My last dentist stated I needed 6 fillings and 2 crowns. I went for a second opinion here, and not one of that was needed!
Dental spa has done multiple work for my mom's implants, she is 72 and has major implants needs. She is happy with dental spa's work. As for me, my cleaning is done here, the hygiest is the best. Thank you!
The dentists always takes extra time with my 6 year old when he’s cleaning his teeth, so much so, that my kids actually loves going to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned! The staff is very friendly, and I love that they have a toy chest for the kids when they do a good job getting their teeth cleaned. Always a great experience.

FAQs

Many people can keep their wisdom teeth. Teeth that come in straight, stay healthy and are easy to clean can stay. When removal is recommended, it's often easier in the late teens or early twenties, before the roots finish forming, and a CBCT scan shows which situation you're in.
Your mouth is numbed before the procedure, so you'll feel some pressure but no sharp pain. Swelling and soreness usually peak around the second or third day. An ice pack on your cheek the first day and an extra pillow at night can help keep swelling down.
Often, at least in part, especially when the teeth are impacted or causing problems. Coverage for IV sedation varies more from plan to plan. We work in network with Delta Dental, Tricare and Connection Dental, so share your member details and our team will check what your plan pays.
Most people return to school or work within a few days. Dry socket happens when the blood clot comes loose and leaves the socket empty and painful, so avoid straws, smoking, vaping and hard spitting for several days. If throbbing pain gets worse after the second or third day, give us a call.
The cost mainly depends on how many teeth are removed, how deeply they sit in the bone and your choice of sedation. You'll receive a written estimate before your surgery date, and financing options are available.
