Is a missing tooth holding back your smile or keeping you from the foods you love? Dental implants in Orange, CA, replace a missing tooth with one that looks and feels natural. We help you feel like yourself again at every meal and in every photo.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that replaces the root of a missing tooth. After it fuses with your jawbone, it can support a crown, a bridge or a full set of replacement teeth.
A bridge is usually quicker, but the teeth on either side of the gap have to be reshaped to hold it. A partial denture costs less up front, though it rests on your gums and comes out at night. An implant stands on its own, leaves your other teeth untouched and is brushed and flossed like a natural tooth.
If you've been told you don't have enough bone for an implant, bone grafting or socket preservation can often rebuild it. Heavy smoking, uncontrolled diabetes or past radiation to the jaw can slow healing, and in those cases a bridge or partial denture may be the better choice.
Because it's anchored in your jawbone, an implant feels steady when you chew, so you can enjoy crunchy foods like apples and nuts again.
With good home care and regular checkups, an implant can last many years, though the crown on top may need replacing from normal wear.
The jawbone under a missing tooth slowly shrinks, and an implant works like a natural root to help keep that bone healthy and strong.
From consultation to final tooth, the process usually takes a few months, and most of that time is quiet healing.
Book NowWe start by talking about the tooth you lost and your health history. We then check your gums, your bite and the teeth beside the gap.
A CBCT scan shows your bone, nerves and sinuses in three dimensions. We use it to plan the best position for your new implant.
Our team numbs the area and places the implant, with IV sedation if you'd like it. Most people are back at work the next day.
Over about 3 to 6 months, the implant fuses with your jawbone. Short checkups along the way confirm that it's healing the way it should.
We attach your custom porcelain crown, bridge or denture and adjust your bite. You'll also get aftercare instructions for your implant.
Dr. James Lee, DDS, is an American Academy of Implant Dentistry member who plans each Nobel Biocare implant on a 3D CBCT scan of your jaw.
Your consultation, implant placement and final tooth are all handled in our office, and a digital iTero scan replaces messy impressions.
Your medical history, gum health and any clenching can affect healing, so we check each one and explain the risks and other options.
A California-licensed dental anesthesiologist provides IV sedation in our office for longer surgeries, and local numbing often suits one implant.

Since starting my implant treatment with Dr. Desai, I truly felt confident and recognized his expertise. I highly recommend him and his clinic, Dental Spa of Orange.
I had an anchor installed by Dr Desai. He was able to do all the work without feeling any pain. Most of the time. I require a lot of anesthesia. But after I mentioned that he used a stronger anesthesia and it was the best visit to a dentist that I've ever had.
Dental spa has done multiple work for my mom's implants, she is 72 and has major implants needs. She is happy with dental spa's work. As for me, my cleaning is done here, the hygiest is the best. Thank you!
Clean office, friendly and very helpful staff… More importantly, wonderful and skillful dentists. Good work and very reasonable charges...
Nice and clean place, the doctor is professional and reliable. The best dentist in the town!
We love the dental spa of Orange! Staff are great, dentists are wonderful, appointments are easy to get, facility is clean and well cared for. Highly recommend!
Friendly staff and doctor makes you feel comfortable. Will continue to recommend Dental Spa of Orange to friends and family.
Good cleaning and friendly staff. The Dr is very good. Been going there for years and very satisfied.
I can not say good things about this place. They took my fear and anxiety about the dentist and made me feel safe and comfortable. I can not say enough good things about this place.
The Staff was very friendly and accommodating. With covid making life harder the office made it seem very easy and accessable. The dental surgeon was incredible and cared about my pain management. I am definitely going back for my next dental needs.
I’m very pleased with this office. Honesty is important to me, and this office is that. One of my biggest issues that I have come across with dentistry is charging the insurance for work not done or having work done that is not needed. My last dentist stated I needed 6 fillings and 2 crowns. I went for a second opinion here, and not one of that was needed!

Most patients have their final tooth about 3 to 6 months after the implant is placed. Much of that time is quiet healing with a few short visits. A bone graft can add a few months, and we will give you your own timeline after reviewing your scan.
Most people find it more comfortable than they expected. The area is fully numb during placement, so most people feel only some pressure, and IV sedation is available if you'd like it. Mild soreness and swelling usually peak around the second day and ease within a few days.
It depends on your plan, since implant coverage varies a lot. Some plans pay toward the implant or the crown, while others cover very little. Our office is in network with Delta Dental, Tricare and Connection Dental, and you'll see your cost in writing before treatment begins.
Sometimes. If your bone is healthy and the implant is stable when it's placed, a temporary tooth may be attached that day. We will let you know whether that's a safe option for you after reviewing your scan.
Over time, the bone under the gap tends to shrink, and nearby teeth can drift into the space. That can make an implant harder to place later and may mean you need a bone graft first.
